Executive
Mike serves as VP of Open Source at Sangoma, leading businesses and communities built around Asterisk and FreePBX , open source communications platforms used around the world.
Michael White is an open source technology executive, entrepreneur and grassroots motorsports competitor. The same thing has driven both sides of his career: build something useful, put it in the hands of a community, listen to the people using it and keep making it better.
For more than two decades, Mike's professional world has revolved around open source communications technology , communities where builders, developers, businesses and users improve what exists by participating in it.
Grassroots motorsports works much the same way. Walk through a paddock and people are sharing setups, solving problems, comparing products, helping competitors and learning from what worked on the last run. The strongest recommendations rarely come from an advertisement. They come from another person who has actually used the product.
Mike serves as VP of Open Source at Sangoma, leading businesses and communities built around Asterisk and FreePBX , open source communications platforms used around the world.
Before joining Sangoma, Mike founded and built .e4, bringing the perspective of an entrepreneur, operator and customer into his work with technology communities and commercial partners.
That builder mentality carries into Scirocco #799: a 1976 Volkswagen developed for hill climbs, time trials and track competition through constant testing, iteration and hands-on problem solving.
Mike competes in #799 while also helping promote and grow grassroots motorsports. He is a board member and marketing leader for the Empire Hill Climb, combining his experience building communities with his enthusiasm for vintage Volkswagen racing.
Mike's professional career has been built around technical communities where credibility comes from participation. His professional network includes nearly 10,000 LinkedIn followers, extending the #799 story beyond the track and into a technology and business audience. The #799 partnership program applies that same philosophy to motorsports. Products should be used, understood and talked about in context , in front of the drivers, builders and enthusiasts who influence what gets bought next.
This isn't about renting space on a race car. It's about giving the right company an authentic place inside the program and the community around it.
